To be honest, I’d always envisioned being incredibly successful by the time I turned twenty-five.
I don’t know why I thought I’d have it all figured out now, but five years ago I was pretty confident I’d be making six figures, have my own house on the beach, and a cute Shar Pei to travel with me around the world. All worries would cease to exist at my age; I would have a handle on life after a quarter century on this earth. It just seemed like a normal progression.
So naturally, NONE of that happened.
Instead, I spent the Big Day at the first Life is Beautiful Festival in downtown Las Vegas with over 60 bands, 50 restaurants, 25 special guests, and tens of thousands of attendees celebrating art, music, and community in Las Vegas.
I was so lucky to be able to meet some incredible people, including some of the top-billed bands of the weekend. And the best part? They sang me happy birthday. :)
Many thanks to Twenty One Pilots, Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun, and Moondog Matinee for making my twenty-fifth memorable.
So turning a quarter century wan’t what I thought it would be. But that’s okay. Because the reality was so much better.
But here’s to maybe having it all figured out by twenty-six. :)
